I just discovered this tag over on the lovely Melanie/meltotheany‘s page and thought that it would be fun to do! This tag was originally created by Jamie/perpetualpageturner.
♛
♛Author you’ve read the most books from:
Unsurprisingly, I’ve read the most from Cassandra Clare.
♛Best sequel ever:
Gemina (The Illuminae Files #2) by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff!
♛Currently reading:
The Archived by Victoria Schwab.
♛Drink of choice while reading:
Honestly I usually just drink water but if I have to have something else I’ll go for sweet iced tea.
♛E-reader or physical book?:
Physical books are definitely my favorites.
♛Fictional character you probably would have actually dated in high school:
I’m extremely tempted to say Gansey from The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater for this one.
♛Glad you gave this book a chance:
Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson! Contemporary is not my favorite genre, but I’d absolutely hated it until my friend forced me to read this!
♛Hidden gem book:
Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody! It really doesn’t get the appreciation that it deserves.
♛Important moment in your reading life:
I think for me, and most others, it was discovering Goodreads. I was already an avid reader before, but it was like opening up a whole new world of possibilities. It’s allowed me to make so many friends and read a lot of different things!
♛Just finished:
Bone Gap by Laura Ruby.
♛Kinds of books you won’t read:
I don’t read any non-fiction (unless I’ve been forced to for classes).
♛Longest book you’ve read:
Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare which was a whopping 912 pages long.
♛Major book hangover because of:
I was totally messed up after I binged and read the whole Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews!
♛Number of bookcases you own:
Only 2 but they’re both hot messes.
♛One book you have read multiple times:
Out of all of my books, I’ve probably read Grave Mercy by Robin Lafevers the most. I was obsessed with it for a couple of years so I think I’ve read it 4 times.
♛Preferred place to read:
Reading while taking a nice, hot bath is my go-to.
♛Quote that inspires you/gives you all the feels from a book you’ve read:
“He is slow, and the sea sings to us both, but he returns to me.” -The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater. The ending of this book messed me up and that’s been THE quote that tugs on my heart ever since.
♛Reading regret:
There were a couple of years when I was younger that I stopped reading because of assigned readings from school. I understand that they’re just trying to get students to enjoy reading, but as someone who already did, forced reading sucked the fun out of it for me. I just wish that I had gotten past that and continued to read. I missed out on so many great books and series that came out during that time.
♛Series you started and need to finish (all books are out in series):
I’m honestly pretty good at keeping up with series that I start. The only one I can think of that I haven’t finished is Throne of Glass and that’s because I hated the first three books.. I loved the fourth one so I figured I’d stop while I was ahead lol.
♛Three of your all-time favorite books:
The Wicked King by Holly Black.
A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas.
Hero at the Fall by Alwyn Hamilton.
♛Unapologetic fangirl for:
Amanda Foody. She is a total sweetie and her books are freaking amazing.
♛Very excited for this release more than all the others:
Ooh this is hard, but I’m gonna have to go with King of Fools by Amanda Foody.
♛Worst bookish habbit:
I feel so guilty about this but I can’t help myself lol. I always promise my friends that I’ll read a specific book that is one of their favorites and then I just don’t.. Like I never get around to it but keep saying “oh I’ll read it eventually”. It never happens.
♛X marks the spot: start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book:
I have a lot of books loaned out right now, so at the moment the 27th book on my shelf is Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
♛Your latest book purchase:
I just bought Once & Future by Amy Rose Capetta & Cori McCarthy. The Sword in the Stone has always been one of my favorite animated movies, so I was sold as soon as I read the description of it.
♛ZZZ-snatcher book (last book that kept you up way late):
An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson just because I was reading it for the Fantasy Adventureathon so I had to stay up late to finish it.
I really enjoyed doing this, so if you’d like to do it too, then consider yourself tagged!
