Hi lovelies! I’ve got a couple of reviews and a wrap-up that I’m working on for the remainder of the month, but it’s been a hot minute since I’ve done a tag, so this one is kind of perfect with it being awards season (albeit a little late).
This original tag was created by BOOKadoodles over on Youtube so feel free to check out their video! There’s quite a few categories, so let’s go ahead and get started!
♛ Best Actor – Best Male Protagonist ♛
And the winner is none other than the lovely Lazlo Strange (Strange the Dreamer duology by Laini Taylor). There weren’t many nominations for this category as the protagonists that I read are predominantly female. But still, Lazlo is amazing and deserves this win!
♛ Best Actress – Best Female Protagonist ♛
Now this category was especially hard. I just love all of my girls so much, but Nova Artino aka Nightmare (Renegades trilogy by Marissa Meyer) ending up winning out, and she did so easily. She’s such a baddie but she’s still so relatable. I love her.
♛ Best Cinematography – Best Plot Twist ♛
I will never ever stop raving about Supernova. Plot twist after plot twist after plot twist. A few of them were somewhat predictable, but for the most part I was just extremely shocked. It was a masterpiece.
♛ Best Costume Design – Best Book Cover ♛
This one genuinely took me hours of thinking and searching to choose, and I’m still not 100% sure in my decision because there’s so many stunning covers out there! But I can’t deny that Aurora Rising is the only cover on my shelf that still manages to blow me away despite being there for a year.
♛ Best Supporting Actor – Best Non-Protagonist Male Character ♛
I honestly did try to think of another fictional man that deserved this title, but truthfully, no one is doing it like Cardan Greenbriar (The Folk of The Air trilogy by Holly Black). I fell in love with him in 2018 and I’m still in love with him now.
♛ Best Supporting Actress – Best Non-Protagonist Female Character ♛
Minya (Strange the Dreamer duology by Laini Taylor) is an incredibly complex character whose actions are very morally grey. She’s so much more than what you expect and I wholeheartedly loved her arc.
♛ Best Original Screenplay – Best Unique Plot/World ♛
I cannot and will not even attempt to explain the world and plot in The Library of the Unwritten, so just do yourself a favor and go read it!
♛ Best Adapted Screenplay – Best Book Adaptation ♛
No explanation is necessary for this considering the fact that all three The Lord of the Rings movies are the superior adaptations, but The Two Towers has always been my favorite. The Battle of Helm’s Deep scenes alone! Ugh, I love it.
♛ Best Animated Feature – Best Book That Would Work Well in Animated Form ♛
Okay hear me out. Imagine Cinder (or the entire series) getting animated into the same style/design as She-Ra. Just wow. I can already picture it in my head and I need it.
♛ Best Director – Best Writer That’s New To You ♛
Elizabeth Lim was easily my top choice! Spin the Dawn was magical and I can’t wait to continue the series and anything else that she writes in the future.
♛ Best Visual Effects – Best Action in a Book ♛
There’s so much non-stop action happening in Gemina and I was living for all of it. It was very intense and easy to picture, so that’s why it wins this category.
♛ Best Musical Score – Best Music in a Book Adaptation ♛
There were so many good options for this one, including the other HP and LOTR scores, but ultimately I had to stick with the soundtrack from Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Part 2.
♛ Best Short Film – Best Novella ♛
I’m technically cheating for this one, because Sword of Destiny is not exactly a novella. It’s technically a full-length book, but it is a collection of short stories so that’s why I’m counting it anyways.
♛ Best Picture – Best Standalone ♛
Honestly were you expecting me to say anything other than Sorcery of Thorns?
♛ Best Documentary – Best Historical Fiction ♛
No book has ever impacted me the way that The Book Thief has. It’s unrivaled in its genre.
♛ Laura ♛ Audrey ♛ Iris ♛ Zoe ♛ Saoudia ♛
And that’s a wrap! Let me know what your own thoughts were, and if you’ve made a blog post recently that you’re excited about, then feel free to link it below! I’d love to check it out.
Have a great day lovelies!

I’m so late responding to this, sorry! But yess I think you’d love it because of the characters.
And taste, the HP soundtracks go so hard.
I’ll definitely force you to read them, don’t you worry about that.
