I’m going to see Endgame tomorrow night at midnight, so I thought that it would be fitting to do this tag right before the movie!
I’m not sure who the original creator of was, and it’s been circling the blogging community for a while, but I most recently saw it over on Sara’s The Bibliophagist. You should definitely check out her post for this tag!
♛ Iron Man: A book that made you laugh out loud
All eleven books by Ilona Andrews that I’ve read so far have been some of the funniest that I’ve ever picked up in my life. While Hugh’s story wasn’t quite as funny as Kate’s, this was still immensely hilarious. I highlighted so many quotes.
♛ Captain America: A book that sends a positive message
I wrote a review for this, which you can check out here. But this was a cute coming of age story about learning to be confident in yourself and following your dreams. While there were some issues, the positive message was too cute to ignore.
♛ Thor: A book with a character’s strength you admire
This was my favorite book from the Daughter of Smoke & Bone trilogy, and while Karou might not be the conventional “strong character”, you can’t deny that she’s tough as nails. She goes through a lot through these books, but she always manages to keep going.
♛ Black Widow: A book with a kick-butt female protagonist
Amani is one of the toughest female characters in YA. She’s just an average girl from a small, dusty town that gets drug into a rebellion against the Sultan. I love her so much and oh boy does she freaking kick some serious butt!
♛ Hulk: A book that made you incredibly angry
I know that this has a LOT of fans, but this book extremely pissed me off. I get that Diana was probably trying to stay true to the time period, but the fact that the main character was blamed repeatedly by Jamie for “trying to get herself raped just to make him jealous”??? That’s a big nope from me. I will never continue on with the rest of this series or watch the tv show.
♛ Hawkeye: An underrated book you think more people should pay attention to
I know that everyone was put off by the fact that this is a western YA novel, but it’s seriously underappreciated! I’m a fan of western movies, so I decided to pick this up and I was not disappointed at all! Plus it has a stunning cover, so how could you resist?
♛ Loki *bonus*: A book with a twist or surprise that tricked you
Most of the covers for this book are awful, which is a shame, because it was a really fun read! A friend recently made me read this and I’m really glad that I did. Some of it was pretty predictable but I was totally side-lined by what happened at the very end!
And that’s the end of the tag! This was fun and I’m glad that I got around to it before I see Endgame and get wrecked by it. If you’d like to do this too, then consider yourself tagged!
