No Disclaimers Book Tag

I was tagged by one of my faves, Fizzy, on her booktube The Procrastinator Files so you should definitely go check out her channel! But without further ado let’s go ahead and get into the tag!

1. Which trope (or tropes) in books annoy you the most?

Miscommunication is definitely one of the worst tropes in YA. Like the entire “plot” of Restore Me (Shatter Me #4) wouldn’t have even existed if the characters had just freaking spoken to each other like adults instead of acting like 5 year olds.

Another annoying trope is when a character thinks they’re a special snowflake, like someone does in Throne of Glass..

2. Which writer or writers do you feel are overrated/overhyped?

There are so many overhyped authors out there, but I’m gonna go with Leigh Bardugo. She has one good duology but everyone acts like she’s some kind of genius. I mean yeah, Six of Crows is iconic but two books doesn’t make you the MVP of writing.

3. What are your least favorite books you’ve read, since joining BookTube?

I’m going to go with “since joining the book community” for this question because I’m not on booktube lol. But the ones that immediately come to my mind are the Throne of Glass series, Red Rising, and the Grisha trilogy.

4. A terrible ending, that ruined an otherwise quality book?

The Becoming of Noah Shaw. The book was okay at best but that ending was just not it chief.

5. Which Fictional Character(s) do you wish were not killed off?

Raphael Santiago from TMI!! I understand why he had to die, but he truly deserved better and I miss him.

Aww and Sam from the Rebel of the Sands series. His death hit me harder than any other character’s in all of the books I’ve read and I almost teared up over it. I loved him so much.

6. What are some of your bookish pet peeves?

Omg I freaking hate it when people read series out of order!!! I know several people that do this and it makes me want to shake them. Like I cannot comprehend why anyone would WANT to do that.

7. What are some books you feel should have more recognition?

The Shadow Game series by Amanda Foody definitely deserves more appreciation!
