I was nominated for this award by the very lovely Dini at dinipandareads! She runs one of my favorite blogs, so you should definitely go check her posts out and give her a follow!
The Sunshine Blogger Award is given to those who are creative, positive, and inspiring while spreading sunshine to the blogging community.
β Rules: β
- Thank the blogger(s) who nominated you in a blog post and link back to their blog.
- Answer the 11 questions sent by the person who nominated you.
- Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.
- List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or on your blog.
β 1. What is your favorite book genre? β
Fantasy! This year Iβve broken out of my comfort zone and read more widespread genres, but still 46.8% of my reads thus far have been fantasy, and I’m sure that percentage will be even higher by the end of the year.
β 2. What book do you wish would be made into a TV series/movie? β
If it would be made and adapted perfectly, Iβd have to say the Caraval series by Stephanie Garber. I just feel like theyβd make such a great, dark TV show and I could see Netflix picking it up and doing a great job with it.
β 3. You need to escape your house (for some reason) and can only bring 3 books in your bag. What books would you take? β
So if I could only take three of my books with me Iβd definitely grab the copy of my Bible that I got at Passion, my signed edition of Gemina, and my signed edition of Sorcery of Thorns.
β 4. Why did you start a book blog? β
Like most of us on here, I’m not friends with any people in real life that enjoy reading. And while Iβve been a part of the book community on Goodreads and Twitter, I wanted a better way of sharing my bookish thoughts and opinions with the world. YouTube wasnβt for me, so I decided to start A Wicked Reader! (my blog name was totally influenced by The Wicked King) My blog has only been around for a few months, but I’ve already made so many friends and gotten to take part in so many great discussions. I love it.
β 5. What was your last 5-star read and why? β
I just finished Strange the Dreamer and it was definitely 5 stars and a new favorite! Laini Taylorβs writing is just so magical and beautiful, and the story and characters were truly incredible.
β 6. Whatβs a destination you want to visit because of a book you read? β
Aside from Harry Potter World? I would love to visit New Zealand because that’s where the movies for The Lord of the Rings was filmed!
β 7. If you could read any book again for the first time, which book would it be and why? β
This is a tough one. but I think I’m going to go with The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I was in high school when I read this, and although I loved it then, I think I might appreciate it even more now. It’s really just such a powerful read, and getting to read it again for the first time would be amazing.
β 8. Do you read books in another language? If yes, what language? β
Sadly I canβt. I can read some Spanish, but Iβm by no means fluent. I would love to be able to read in other languages though!
β 9. Which fictional character do you think is most like you? β
I honestly see a lot of myself in Elisabeth Scrivener from A Sorcery of Thorns. Like yes she is a huge book nerd that loves libraries, but she also doesnβt give up or back down from a fight and she can definitely hold her own. That’s so me. I may seem all sweet and friendly (I promise, I am) but I have been in my fair share of fights in my life lol. I didn’t take kickboxing for no reason!
β 10. Which fictional world would you most like to visit or live in and why? β
Le Cirque des RΓͺves from The Night Circus. Without a doubt in my mind. Just imagine jumping through the Cloud Maze or walking in the Ice Garden. Getting to play with the magical origami animals or wishing on the Wishing Tree. It would be like a literal dream come true. And now I’m making myself want to reread it.
β 11. What popular book and/or author do you hate? β
Red Rising by Pierce Brown. I don’t know why I hate this book, because the rest of the world seems to love it, but I seriously hate it. I gave it 1 star and it took me months to read.
My Questions:
- What’s a book you’re embarrassed to admit that you’ve never read?
- If you could punch any character in the face, who would it be and why?
- What’s a book or series that you think everyone should read?
- Which book is the first that you fell in love with?
- What is your all-time favorite book cover?
- Is there an author that you absolutely refuse to read anything that’s written by them?
- Who is your favorite book villain?
- If you could only read one book repeatedly for the rest of your life, what would it be?
- Are characters or plot more important to you in a story?
- What book or series do you wish would be adapted into a movie or TV show?
- What’s a series that always makes you feel happy and nostalgic to think about?
β Saoudia β Ally β Olivia β Jenn β Tiffany β Ali β Chrisi β Debora β Annabelle β Mandy β Meghan β

Thank you so much for the nomination, Sailor! ππ
Strange the Dreamer was a favourite for me when I read it last year, too!
awickedreader says
Of course π
Glad to hear that you loved it too! Iβm both excited and scared to read Muse of Nightmares after that ending π
Ally Writes Things says
Same!!! My sister’s been reading it for like three weeks now because she doesn’t want to finish it lol
awickedreader says
Oh gosh that makes me even more scared now lol
Margaret @ Weird Zeal says
I would also love to travel to New Zealand and visit the places where LOTR was filmed π And reading The Book Thief for the first time now, when I’m sure I would understand it better than the first time I read it, would probably make me love it even MORE. Great answers to all of these questions, and congrats on the nomination πβοΈ
awickedreader says
Right? Thereβs just so many gorgeous places to visit. That would definitely be a dream trip!
And same here. It would probably be a lot more painful if I read it for the first time now lol.
Thank you so much Margaret! ππ
Jocelynn says
I love reading your blog posts! Seeing both Strange and SoT in here made me so happy. Iβm now terrified to read Red Rising this week too ππ
awickedreader says
Aww thank you so much Jocelynn! π Oof I definitely seem to be the odd one out for my Red Rising opinion π so maybe youβll enjoy it more than I did!

Thank you for tagging me! π I would love to see Caraval as a TV show, that would be some great television!
awickedreader says
You’re so welcome Meghan! And yes it totally would be. Maybe after the Shadow and Bone show comes out we can get more adaptations in the future!
Whimsically Meghan says
That’s so true! I hope so! π
Kay | Hammock of Books says
Congrats on the nom! I love Elisabeth and a Caraval adaptation would be amazing!
awickedreader says
Thank you so much! Yes, Elisabeth very quickly became a new favorite character for me. And hopefully we’ll get more adaptations soon!
dinipandareads says
Yay! I’m so glad that you did this. I love your answers, especially all the mentions of Sorcery of Thorns because that book is just so … ππ₯°π€© Also, I think Caraval would be an awesome TV show but if they ever make one I hope that they really get all the details right and they’d really have to capture the magic! And omg, I’d love to visit New Zealand at some point because of the LOTR movies!
awickedreader says
Thank you so much for tagging me! π I know, I canβt stop gushing about Sorcery of Thorns to literally anyone that will listen. But itβs so amazing that Iβm unashamed about my raving. I agree! But who knows. With Leigh Bardugoβs books and Aurora Rising getting adapted, anything is possible! Yess thereβs so many different locations from the movies to visit! A girl can dream lol
dinipandareads says
It really is! I also keep suggesting it to every forum that asks for a fantasy rec! Haha I’m SO excited for those adaptations! I think if they do a great job with those, then I really think anything is possible! I hope they don’t butcher either or change it up too much π
El says
OMG I KNOW! I loved strange the dreamer so much! Iβm glad that you enjoyed it too π
